Trudgin a bit...

Last week didn't go so sweet on my resolve to exercise. Sometimes I get disappointed because I'm not seeing results as quickly as I did last time I tried to loose weight. I think I am one of those women who has a hard time loosing weight while nursing. I seem to easily drop 5-10 pounds once I'm done. This was frustrating me last week! I worked out really hard on Monday and then not again until Friday.

One of my problems is I have to workout first thing in the morning. I prefer to do it before the children wake, which has been pretty darn early lately. My dear husband wakes up just before 5, the vanity is in our room so the light is on while he gets ready, and then we pray together just before he leaves. This means that by the time he leaves (around 6am) I've been between sleep and awake for an hour. If I go back to sleep after he leaves then I have this heavy head feeling and it's really hard to get out of bed even at 7:30.

So, I resolved to get out of bed when Paul gets out of the shower... approximately 5:30ish. I know for most of us that's pretty darn early, but I do what works for me. It's been really nice because for some reason I feel more awake then than I do when I stay in bed till later. I sometimes have a little lie down in the early afternoon so I'm not tired and grumpy. It feels amazing to wake up and work out hard and shower before the kids wake up. The result is a better workout because I can focus, I'm happier to say, "Good morning!" because I'm ready for them, and my day is more productive. I love a good workout! I've been learning the Turbo Jam Cardio Party workout. It's pretty sweet! I sweat a bunch with this workout, but it's not like my body is begging me to stop. This morning I did the Windsor pilates 20 minute circle video and the 20 minute buns and thigh. Burn baby burn! I've learned the trick with pilates is really in the stretch or lengthening of whatever part you are isolating. If you just swing your leg in the motion not much happens by way of result. But, if you follow her instructions and lengthen the leg and really try to do exactly what she describes then the results are quicker and it feels better.

Caryn, how's the exercise program going? I noticed your last post was on the 3rd. Just curious. When I purchased Turbo Jam, I did not get the maximum results package with the weighted gloves. I keep thinking about ordering that though. What do you think?
