There is something amazing that happens when I wake up by six and start exercising. I remember a couple of years ago when I began working out in the morning it took a few weeks before it wasn't HARD to tear myself from the sheets and force my eye lids open much less jump and jive around my living room. After a few weeks it became easier and then after a few more weeks I began to wake up naturally a few minutes before my alarm started buzzing. A while after that and I began naturally waking up even earlier and then had time to exercise and read the Good Book before my children woke up. With this also came better quality of sleep, more energy throughout the day, and one of my favorite benefits - no crash after lunch. I was very happy to notice that disappeared!
Well, since that first time it's been amazingly easier! Even after nine months of NOT waking up early and NOT exercising, my body is easily put in motion before the sun rises. Even after a night where I had to get up several times for my motherly duties I can get out of bed and workout (although I may slip in a nap later, I'm not Wonder woman!)
It's also amazing how getting up and working out while my children sleep aids my sanity throughout the day. Having control of my workout, and doing something so good for me helps me to not freak out when I can't control my children, my circumstances, or the messes that result from them.
I'm wearing a size ten right now and I'm really looking forward to being a comfortable 8. Most of my pants are 12s, 8s, and 6s. Notice there aren't many 10s. It's one of those uncomfortable stages... too loose or too tight.
Thanks for all of your e-mails and comments. They keep me going! Don't get too critical, but here is a glance at my progress.
