So, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE before and after photos. They inspire me and I can't get enough of them! Here are my before & after photos. Now, they are both taken after I worked out and by a six year old so I don't look lovely and the pictures aren't the greatest quality, and I'm in my sports bra, but they're me!
My latest obsession is Chalene Extreme. I want it so much I actually dream about it at night. The same gal who created Turbo Jam, which I LOVE, just released an amazing program. You can see for yourself at BeachBody.com. Click on Chalene Extreme. I'm just drooling. It's pretty pricey and I assume I will have to buy the weights so I'm saving my pennies, and I'll be saving them for awhile. I would really, really love to meet this gal. She is so motivational! She is someone who just radiates goodness and energy! I would like to learn how to do that.
Aside from becoming a fitness freak, I am finally enrolled in private voice lessons. This is like 12 years late, but I'm so thrilled! I love pouring over the Italian text with my IPA manual - love it!! I love pounding out the tricky timings on the piano and then trying my Italian out with it. Since I'm a self declared singer I'm a HUGE fan of American Idol. And, I totally admit that I have fantacies and dreams and hallucinations about auditioning! I really love to perform and that's why I am so into it! I don't want to be famous or travel like crazy. I think it would be totally awesome to audition and make it to HW. Honestly, if I was crazy enough to get there I'm sure that's probably where it would end, but hey, at least I would've gotten there.
Anyway... I love fitness and would LOVE to hear back from you all! It seems that as I get my fitness going and take better care of myself other areas of my life are influenced in a similar positive direction. I also want to SHOUT OUT to all of you who have had babies and are accepting your body for the post-baby body it is. You don't have to accept it! You are in control and when you decide to do turbo jam with me I'll be ready!! You do not have to accept that pouchy stomach or those flabby arms. You are not a victim of your choice to be a mother!!! Which, I am happy to say, is the most honorable job on the planet! Gaining weight is a by-product of that and I know of a fun, awesome way to reclaim the confidence and happiness that you sacrifice to carry babies!! You are empowered to make changes, baby steps!!
I love you!! I hope you want to get on the path to healthiness and happiness! It is a WONDERFUL path that is not adorned with starvation and pain, but music, accomplishment, and fun!

Wow!! Good job, Caryn. You look super. It's so exciting to see the reward of all your hard efforts. I, too, took before pics, and a couple along the way, but I don't really feel like I'm quite at the "after" place to post quite yet. I love what you said about not resigning yourself to a "mother's body". I'm proud of you and appreciate all the inspiration you've given me.
